Three teenage boys were rescued on Tuesday night after drifting into deep waters of the Sea of Galilee (Lake Kinneret) near Tiberias’s Sycamore Beach. A rescue boat from the United Rescue service reached their rubber dinghy and pulled the boys to safety. The teenagers, who were suffering from mild dehydration following their ordeal, were successfully extracted from the water and brought ashore. Emergency services responded quickly to reports of the boys being swept out into deeper waters, preventing what could have been a more serious incident. The Sea of Galilee, Israel’s largest freshwater lake located in the north of the country, is a popular recreational destination but can present hazards for swimmers and small watercraft during unpredictable weather conditions.
