Prison Officer Accused of Helping Murder Suspect’s Brother Claims She Was in Love

An Israeli prison service officer under investigation for allegedly enabling a phone call between an inmate and the brother of a murder suspect has given interviews denying the allegations. According to leaked investigation transcripts, the officer is suspected of facilitating contact between Binyamin Razi, the main suspect in a murder case, and his brother while the latter was evading authorities. In her testimony, the officer described the prisoner in romantic terms, saying “he’s a wonderful person by nature,” suggesting she had developed a personal relationship with him whilst on duty.

The officer has denied the charges against her, claiming instead that she witnessed numerous instances of judges, prosecutors and police officers breaking the law without facing consequences. Her remarks appear to be an attempt to shift focus from the specific allegations by highlighting what she characterises as broader systemic failures within Israel’s legal system.
