Israeli MP Delivers Aid to Blockaded Palestinian Families

Israeli Member of Parliament Ofer Kassif announced on Friday that he had successfully delivered water, food and medicine to families in the blockaded village of Qusra in the West Bank. Using his parliamentary immunity, Kassif said he was able to pass through a police checkpoint to reach the isolated community and provide essential supplies to residents cut off from basic services.

According to Kassif’s statement, the families in Qusra had been living without adequate access to clean water after local Palestinian water pipes were damaged. “Thanks to my immunity as an MP, I was permitted to pass through the police checkpoint, meet with the blockaded families and deliver them equipment for connecting water pipes that had been damaged by settlers,” Kassif explained.

The visit highlights the humanitarian situation facing some Palestinian communities in the occupied West Bank, where residents face restrictions on movement and access to resources. Qusra has experienced periodic blockades and settler activity in recent years, according to Palestinian and international humanitarian organisations. Kassif, a left-wing member of the Knesset, has been an outspoken critic of Israeli settlement policy and advocate for Palestinian rights.
