A chaotic brawl at Yamit 2000 water park in southern Israel resulted in two security guards being lightly injured and twelve arrests, forcing the facility to close. The incident reportedly began as a disagreement between swimmers and lifeguards, but quickly escalated into a multi-person fight involving numerous visitors. Two security personnel required medical attention for their injuries sustained during the altercation. Police responded to the scene and detained a dozen residents from the southern region in connection with the disturbance. The nature of the initial dispute between guests and lifeguards has not been fully clarified, though witnesses described a volatile atmosphere that culminated in flying deckchairs and other objects being used during the melee. The water park immediately suspended operations following the incident whilst authorities processed those arrested and gathered statements from witnesses to the disturbance.
