Israeli police have uncovered a sophisticated fraud scheme operating in Tel Aviv in which a suspect systematically targeted food and catering companies over several months. The perpetrator obtained customer order details and contacted them using false pretences, gaining access to credit card information which was then used to make unauthorised purchases totalling hundreds of thousands of shekels.

Investigators discovered substantial quantities of stolen goods and luxury items at the suspect’s home and several other addresses linked to the operation. The scheme exploited the vulnerabilities of businesses in the food service sector, which handle high volumes of customer transactions and payment information.

The investigation represents a significant breakthrough in tackling what authorities describe as organised fraud targeting the catering and food supply industry. Police have recovered much of the stolen merchandise as part of their ongoing inquiry into the extent of the criminal network and any potential accomplices involved in the scheme.
