Ireland confirms Eurovision boycott over Israeli participation in 2027

Ireland’s public broadcaster RTÉ announced it will again boycott the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027, to be held in Bulgaria, due to Israel’s participation. The decision cites ‘appalling and ongoing loss of lives’ in Gaza. It remains uncertain whether other countries including Spain, Netherlands, Iceland and Slovenia will repeat their boycotts from previous years.
