Flydubai co-pilot was banned from flying in Oman over radical ideological views

Breaking

The co-pilot involved in the attempted hijacking of Flydubai flight was previously banned from flying in Oman after displaying radical ideological views, according to reports following the incident.

UAE prosecutors revealed that the co-pilot attacked the pilot inside the cockpit with an axe and attempted to take control of the aircraft during the attempted hijacking.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented on the incident, stating that the hijacker underwent radical Islamist indoctrination and displayed clear suicidal intent. The revelation of the co-pilot’s previous ban from Oman raises questions about aviation security vetting procedures.

The incident, which occurred on a flydubai flight, is being investigated as an attempted terror attack by UAE authorities.
