An analysis of Iran’s recent strikes on US military installations in the Middle East reveals a coordinated assault targeting critical defence infrastructure. More than 115 missile and drone strikes hit 26 sites across the region, damaging or destroying radars, aircraft, and base infrastructure, according to an Associated Press study.
The strikes appear to have been strategically designed to disable early-warning systems, suggesting Iran sought to compromise US air defence capabilities across multiple locations. The damage is estimated to cost billions of dollars.
This represents a significant escalation in direct military confrontation between Iran and US forces in the Middle East, with implications for regional security and the broader US military posture in the area.
