Chemical accident at East Jerusalem school leaves 34 people, mostly children, requiring treatment

Breaking

Thirty-four people, predominantly children, were treated for exposure to hazardous chemicals at a school in East Jerusalem following an accidental chemical reaction. Initial investigations by authorities found that a mixture of cleaning chemicals combined to produce dangerous fumes.

One 10-year-old victim was reported to be in moderate condition, whilst the remaining individuals exposed were classified as having sustained light injuries. Emergency services responded to the incident and provided medical treatment to those affected.

The incident has raised questions about chemical storage and safety protocols at educational facilities in the region.
