"Loneliness is killing me": Lum Karev tells about the painful dealing with the trauma

Remembrance Day for the martyrs of Israel's systems and the victims of hostilities: alongside the martyrs and the wounded, there are also those who returned from the war in their bodies – but their heads are still on the battlefield. One of them, Bakor Michalov, 65 years old, spoke this morning (Tuesday) with Ben Caspit Vinon Magal on 103FM , and told about the ambush that changed his life during the First Lebanon War – when he lost five of his comrades, and was the only one left alive.

"Five friends were killed, I was seriously injured. We encountered Syrian terrorists. The brigadier general arrived, lifted us to our feet, we identified 13 figures, and by morning the rush began. I remember it as a mess," he said at the beginning of the conversation.

"I can't talk about everything. I can't go into it deeply," Mikhalov continued. "I've been in the movie for two months before Memorial Day and it takes me two months to recover. I stayed alive, I was in the Mother of Hell, we did what we had to do."

"I'm in cemeteries every night, they turn me away drunk and drugged," he said painfully. "Loneliness is killing me, I've been divorced four times. I've been through hell and I'm not sorry. After the case of Itzik Saidian, I tried to burn myself." For a year and a half I do nothing, but what saves me is art. It's hard for me to part with the pieces so I don't sell them.
