A 38-year-old man was killed today (Wednesday) in a car accident between a private car and a truck on Route 40, near the Midrash Ben Gurion intersection. The MDA team that arrived at the scene found him without signs of life and had to pronounce him dead. The police started an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
MDA paramedic Hazi Mordechai and MDA emergency medicine medic Avihai Maimon said: "When we arrived at the scene, we saw a serious car accident between a car and a concrete truck. The driver of the car, a man about 40 years old, was trapped without a pulse and without breathing and suffering from multi-system damage, while the rescue operations of The firefighters performed medical tests, he was without signs of life and we had to pronounce him dead. The truck driver was slightly injured."
Fire and rescue teams from the Mitzpe Ramon and Rocham stations that were rushed to the scene rescued the driver of the private vehicle who was trapped through complex rescue operations with the help of dedicated hydraulic tools and delivered the trapped person to the medical authorities on the spot who were forced to pronounce him dead. Dimona station police officers are on the scene, directing the traffic. The circumstances of the accident are under investigation.
The commander of the incident, Lehav Mishna Nati Ya'akov: "When we arrived at the scene we noticed an accident between a truck and a private car. The firefighters immediately began complex rescue operations and transferred the trapped person to the medical authorities. Unfortunately, they pronounced him dead."
