A 48-year-old man was seriously injured today (Friday) in a stabbing incident on 'Shevil Choshdi Hashana' street in Ashkelon. MDA medics and paramedics gave him initial medical treatment and evacuated him to Barzilai Hospital suffering from a penetrating injury.

The police forces in the city who were called to the street, responded quickly and arrived at the scene, were able to trace the identity of the suspect, a man in his 40s who was located and arrested shortly after for questioning.

From a preliminary investigation, it is suspected that the background to the case is a dispute over parking between neighbors.
