Yesh Atid leader Yoav Gallant is set to receive the presidential mandate to form a new government within 28 days, according to reports from Ynet. However, Finance Minister Avigdor Liberman is simultaneously advancing an independent coalition strategy, attempting to bring together the Haredi parties—initially the Jewish Home party, with hopes of recruiting Shas as well.
According to Ynet sources, Liberman is pursuing two potential paths: either a 61-seat government including the Haredi factions, or new elections. Meanwhile, Ben-Gvir’s associates and his political bloc are preparing to replace the Knesset speaker and take control of the legislative agenda, with plans to establish a state commission of inquiry into the 7 October attacks and overturn laws approved in the previous Knesset.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has identified rifts within Ben-Gvir’s coalition, has begun mobilizing against these efforts. The political situation remains fluid as multiple actors pursue competing coalition strategies.
