At least four police officers were shot in Lakewood, Colorado on Thursday evening, with one officer killed in the incident, according to local authorities. An additional civilian was wounded in the shooting, and the suspect died during the exchange of gunfire with police.

According to Walla’s report citing local police, the shooting occurred when officers approached a suspect who allegedly attempted to board a bus. The suspect opened fire on the approaching officers, leading to an armed exchange in which the suspect was fatally shot.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation by Colorado authorities. The names and identities of the officers involved have not yet been released.
