However, authorities have decided to petition for the release of Yosef Mosali, the head of a rival crime organisation who was arrested following the incident, from remand into house arrest. The decision suggests police may not have sufficient evidence to hold him in custody at this stage of their investigation. In a related development, police have extended the remand of a 32-year-old man from Lod who is also allegedly connected to the Jarushi family and is suspected of involvement in throwing the grenades. The escalating violence reflects the intense competition between Israeli crime families for control of illegal markets, with attacks increasingly bringing danger to civilian residential areas.
