IDF Chief Orders Immediate Action Plan Against Jewish Extremism

Breaking

IDF Chief of Staff Rav-Aluf Zmir convened representatives from Shin Bet, Police and other security agencies to develop an immediate action plan targeting Jewish extremist violence. The meeting, described as exceptional in nature, marks a significant shift in military response to domestic terror threats.

Key measures under discussion include review of administrative orders, enhanced intelligence gathering, and deployment of Magav fighters to specialised counter-extremism missions. Security officials acknowledged operational gaps, with one security source stating: “The IDF does not know how to operate against Israelis.”

The response also includes stricter sanctions against soldiers who participated in violent incidents. This follows increasing concerns over Jewish extremist activities and represents a rare high-level institutional acknowledgment of the challenge posed by far-right domestic terrorism within Israeli society.
