IDF reveals 170 of those killed in Gaza were militants posing as journalists

Breaking

The Israel Defence Forces has disclosed that 170 individuals killed in Gaza who were reported as journalists were actually operatives embedded in terrorist organisations’ military wings. According to Ynet, the IDF identified that Hamas and other terror groups have acknowledged these individuals were active members of their armed wings and were involved in military operations.

The disclosure comes amid sustained international criticism from major news organisations including Reuters, CNN, and the BBC, which have reported on journalist casualties in Gaza. The IDF claims a narrative has become entrenched globally that Israel is systematically killing journalists.

The military is attempting to counter this narrative by releasing the names and roles of those killed, arguing they were combatants rather than media personnel. The IDF contends that terrorist organisations deliberately embedded military operatives within news organisations to provide cover for their activities.
