Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned that any aggression from the United States or Israel will be met with a “decisive and proportionate response”, according to his official Telegram account. The warning came during a telephone conversation between Araghchi and his Saudi Arabian counterpart on Saturday.
The statement represents Iran’s latest escalatory rhetoric amid ongoing regional tensions. Araghchi’s comments suggest that Tehran would retaliate not only against direct attacks from Washington or Tel Aviv, but also against any involvement by regional states that might participate in such operations.
The warning underscores the fragile security situation in the Middle East, where diplomatic channels between Iran and neighbouring countries remain important despite deep political divisions. Saudi Arabia, a key regional power and long-time rival of Iran, is among the countries Iran is attempting to maintain communication with during this period of heightened tensions.
