In response to the hack, the Hebrew Language Academy announced that the incident was being addressed and that efforts were being made to restore the site to activity as soon as possible. The statement read: "This morning, the Hebrew Language Academy website was hacked, and a statement was published stating that soon there will no longer be a need to learn Hebrew."
The academy added: "The hackers who hacked the site also understand that the Hebrew language is an integral part of the Zionist movement, and is an important element of Israeli culture, existence, and identity." It was further noted: "The incident is being handled in cooperation with the National Cyber Directorate, and we are working to restore the site to normal operation as soon as possible."
At the end of the announcement, the academy delivered a direct message to the hackers: "And to the friends who hacked our website tonight – an important message from us: We don't learn Hebrew because we need it, we learn Hebrew because we love it."
