Israel transferred Iron Dome air defence system batteries to the United Arab Emirates during the current conflict, according to Cabinet member and Minister Miri Regev. She confirmed the move in an interview with Israel Radio (Galatz) on Sunday, stating that the transfer was intended to help protect UAE residents from aerial threats. The Iron Dome is Israel’s advanced air defence system, designed to intercept short-range rockets and aircraft. The UAE, like other Gulf states, has faced occasional missile and drone attacks from Iranian-aligned groups in the region. This marks a significant deepening of military cooperation between Israel and the Emirates, who normalised diplomatic relations in 2020 as part of the Abraham Accords. The transfer underscores the strategic partnership that has developed between the two countries in recent years, with joint interests in countering regional security challenges and Iranian influence.
