A delegation of content creators and social media influencers from the United States, Canada, Australia and Argentina has met with Israeli Foreign Ministry officials to discuss how they can better communicate Israel’s message to global audiences. The meeting, organised by the Mishlachat Masa programme, brought together digital creators with substantial followings to address the challenges facing young Jewish communities in the diaspora.
The influencers, who collectively command millions of followers across platforms like Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, were briefed on key messaging priorities and the strategic importance of authentic storytelling in combating misinformation about Israel. The Foreign Ministry views these digital creators as crucial allies in reaching younger, globally-connected audiences who increasingly get their news from social media rather than traditional outlets.
The initiative reflects a broader shift in how Israel’s government engages in public diplomacy, moving away from traditional media channels towards partnerships with content creators who have built trusted relationships with their followers. By leveraging these influencers’ existing platforms and credibility, officials hope to present Israeli perspectives more effectively to diaspora communities and international audiences.
Participants discussed the particular pressures faced by young Jewish people abroad, including rising antisemitism, campus activism and polarisation around Israel-related issues. The delegation aims to equip influencers with tools and information to address these challenges within their communities while amplifying positive narratives about Israeli society and Jewish life.
