Police in Beersheba have arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of smuggling three undocumented migrants into Israel and then deliberately running them over with his vehicle, resulting in the death of one of the victims. Officers located the suspect’s car beneath a water tanker lorry following the incident and apprehended him for questioning.
According to police allegations, the young man transported the three individuals illegally across the border before deliberately striking them with his vehicle. One of the migrants sustained fatal injuries from the attack. The circumstances surrounding the case, including the suspect’s motive for allegedly harming those he had smuggled, remain under investigation.
The vehicle was discovered hidden beneath a commercial water tanker, suggesting an attempt to conceal evidence or flee the scene. The arrest follows a manhunt by local authorities, who worked to identify the vehicle and its driver. The suspect is currently in custody undergoing interrogation by police detectives.
