Prosecutors in Israel’s Northern District have filed serious charges against Ahmad Nassar, 29, from Buqaia, accused of extortion and weapons offences. The case centres on a recorded telephone conversation in which the suspect allegedly threatened: “The grenade is just the beginning — tomorrow I will blow up your house.” Authorities say Nassar made threats whilst attempting to extort money from his victim, with the recorded call serving as key evidence in the prosecution’s case. The charges also include the theft of a vehicle during the alleged criminal enterprise. Prosecutors have requested that Nassar remain in custody throughout the legal proceedings.
