A man in his 50s has been seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle while riding an electric bicycle in Afula, a city in northern Israel’s Jezreel Valley. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon on Yitzhak Rabin Boulevard, one of the main thoroughfares running through the city. Paramedics from Magen David Adom, Israel’s national emergency medical service, attended to the cyclist at the scene and provided initial treatment for his injuries. The injured man was subsequently transported to Emek Medical Centre, the region’s primary hospital, where he was admitted for further care. The circumstances surrounding the collision are currently under investigation by local traffic police.
