Israeli forces have eliminated Mahmoud Fatayer, a militant commander who played a central role in the release of multiple hostages held in Gaza. Fatayer was killed in the Deir al-Balah area over the weekend. According to Israeli intelligence, he had direct involvement in coordinating the release of numerous captives, including Moran Stella Yanai, Itay Regev, Raz Ben Ami, and Ofir Angell. The operation marks another significant blow to militant infrastructure in the enclave following months of hostage negotiations and releases. Fatayer was among the operatives responsible for maintaining and managing hostage locations throughout the conflict, making him a priority target for Israeli security forces.
