The discussions, which took place at the White House and lasted approximately one hour and twenty minutes, did not result in any public statement to the media. Following the closed-door meeting, Netanyahu told reporters the encounter had been ‘excellent’. Israeli officials have since clarified that sensitive matters including intelligence about Iran’s alleged secret nuclear site and potential military action against it were not discussed. Similarly, a controversial proposed deal involving the sale of F-35 fighter jets to Turkey—a NATO ally that has long been viewed with suspicion in Jerusalem—did not feature in the talks between the two leaders. The nature of these omissions suggests a carefully managed diplomatic agenda, with both sides apparently preferring to avoid contentious issues that could complicate their working relationship during this new phase of the Trump administration.
