An AFP photographer, Hazem Bader, documented a deadly terrorist attack near Hebron in which two Israeli security personnel were killed: Sergeant Ron Yonatan Ruitman and Sergeant Yuval Shay Suilam. Bader filmed the gunmen during the extended exchange of fire and subsequently photographed the bodies of the attackers.

The French news agency AFP has vigorously denied that the photographer had advance knowledge of the attack. However, the Israel Defence Forces has indicated it may further examine Bader’s account of the incident.

The circumstances surrounding the photographer’s presence at the scene and the timing of his documentation have raised questions about how he came to film the attack as it unfolded.
