A 50-year-old man has been killed after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 4 near Yavne junction in central Israel on Wednesday. Paramedics from Magen David Adom (Israel’s national ambulance service) attended the scene and performed resuscitation efforts, but were forced to declare the man dead at the location. The pedestrian suffered multiple injuries across his body in the collision. Paramedic Guy Bareli and motorcyclist medic Roni Raviv from Magen David Adom described the incident as severe, with the man found lying on the roadway suffering extensive trauma. ‘We began resuscitation procedures, but unfortunately we were forced to confirm his death at the scene,’ they stated. Israeli police have announced that traffic lane closures will remain in effect on Highway 4 following the accident as investigations continue.
