Israeli police and tax authorities have launched a major enforcement operation in the Arab town of Baqa al-Gharbiyye, confiscating ten vehicles from residents with outstanding tax debts totalling 4.5 million shekels (approximately £900,000). The joint operation targeted individuals with significant unpaid VAT and income tax liabilities. The crackdown was coordinated through the Haifa tax office, indicating a wider regional enforcement initiative. The confiscated vehicles are expected to be sold, with proceeds directed towards settling the accumulated debts. This enforcement action represents a significant escalation in tax collection efforts within the municipality and reflects authorities’ determination to pursue major outstanding liabilities.
