Pope Leo XIV diagnosed with lung cancer following surgery

Pope Leo XIV has been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the lung following surgical removal of the lower lobe of his right lung at a Roman hospital. Doctors reported the operation was successful, with an excellent prognosis expected given the early-stage detection of the nodule. The pontiff’s recovery may allow him to proceed with a planned trip to South America.
