Russian air defence systems detected more than 430 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) heading towards the greater Moscow region during overnight operations, according to Moscow’s mayor. The official stated that the majority of the drones were neutralised at a distance, preventing them from reaching their intended targets in the capital region. The claims could not be independently verified. Russia has faced repeated drone attacks on Moscow and surrounding areas throughout its ongoing conflict with Ukraine, with both sides regularly reporting interceptions of aerial strikes. The scale of the overnight detection, if confirmed, would represent one of the larger drone assaults reported in recent weeks against Russian territory.
