The Shin Bet security service has significantly increased protection for Naftali Bennett, raising his security detail to the level provided to defence ministers, multiple Israeli sources report. The decision follows recent threats against the former prime minister and incidents including an object thrown at a staff member of a Knesset member in Bnei Brak.
Bennett was briefed by the Shin Bet that the enhanced security measures were being implemented in response to specific threats identified by the security establishment. The upgraded protection represents a substantial increase from his previous security arrangements.
The move reflects heightened concerns about the safety of senior political figures in Israel amid ongoing tensions and security challenges in the country.
