Last night, protesters accompanied the Chairman of the Constitution Committee, MK Simcha Rothman, on his way to the hotel where he was staying in New York when they demonstrated against him. At one point in their demonstration, Rothman grabbed a phone from one of the demonstrators by force and tried to escape from the brains. In the footage released later , Rothman is seen returning the megaphone. Later, the protester filed a complaint with the New York police. Now, a new version of the event is revealed: Rothman published a detailed post on Facebook, in which he explained what happened in the stormy event.
Lost your patience? Rothman was recorded grabbing a megaphone from a protester
"From the events of Friday night in New York," Rothman wrote. "A small group of violent protesters attacked me and my wife while we were walking late at night in New York. They blocked our way, stepped on my wife Hannah's leg and cursed, including death wishes. The security guards called the police, we described to them where we were, and we continued walking, ignoring the protesters ".
"At some point the protesters realized that we weren't excited about them, and then they put a megaphone to our ears, attacking everything, and shouted. Both I and the security guards repeatedly told them to stop and stay away and they continued," he said.
"After all the warnings, I took the megaphone from the protester that she shoved in my ear, without touching it of course. After about half a block we arrived at a place where we could enter and wait for the police. The police escorted me to the hotel, and the event was over."

He also wrote: "On the sidelines of things, but not at all on the sidelines of their importance: during Shabbat, and also during my visit on Thursday, the Jewish community here received me with great joy. With respect and appreciation. There is a lot of support and encouragement in the promotion of reform, but even the few who disagree, came and respected; the violent attackers They came from Israel. Just as in Israel they represent a small and violent group, so here too; it is allowed to demonstrate, it is forbidden to physically attack and harass members of the Knesset; the fact that Yair Lapid and Benny Gantz do not condemn the violent attacks on members of the Knesset, and even encourage them, indicates more than anything else that they have become to be an opposition to the state."
The protest movement "Leaders of Resistance to the Dictatorship" stated: "We remind Rothman that although he wants to return Israel to the Middle Ages, we live in 2023, a year in which everything is filmed. There is not a single word of truth in his detached text, the victim blaming and wild incitement that unfortunately leads to violence against demonstrators This is a pathological liar, a violent dictator, so let's remind Rothman, wherever he goes – good Israelis and democracy seekers will come to protest against the coup attempt he is leading."
