Shin Bet chief warned of ‘perfect storm’ three weeks before October 7 attacks

Breaking

A previously undisclosed warning has emerged revealing that then-Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar made an extraordinary request to brief a subcommittee of the Intelligence Services Committee approximately three weeks before the October 7 terror attacks. According to Ynet’s investigation, Bar specifically warned of the imminent possibility of multi-front warfare breaking out.

The presentation Bar prepared was titled “The Perfect Storm,” with his central message focusing on how societal divisions within Israel were encouraging enemy states and militant groups to act. Bar’s warning suggested that internal fragmentation was creating dangerous vulnerabilities that could be exploited by hostile forces.

This warning adds to accumulating evidence that Israeli security establishment had detected warning signs before the October 7 attacks. The disclosure comes amid ongoing investigations into intelligence failures surrounding the worst terror attack in Israeli history.
