The police prosecution division filed an indictment and a request for detention until the end of the proceedings, against the accused, a 19-year-old resident of the Kashifa settlement, who was part of a gang of car thieves, for his involvement in six incidents of vehicle thefts in several cities in the south and their transfer to the territories of the Palestinian Authority.
The indictment states that on six different dates, during the months of February and March of this year, the defendant conspired together with others to steal vehicles from the cities of Beer Sheva, Ashdod and Rocham and after stealing the vehicles, transported them to the territories of the Palestinian Authority.
Beer Sheva Police Station investigators began an investigation upon receiving the complaints, while collecting findings from the scene of the incident and collecting evidence, and after overt and covert investigative operations, managed to track down the accused, who was identified as driving the stolen vehicles.
He was arrested and the Be'er Sheva Magistrate's Court extended his detention and upon completion of the police investigation, which was conducted at the city station, the Negev Police Prosecution Unit filed an indictment on Monday with a request for detention until the end of the legal proceedings against him.
