Three arrested after grenade thrown at Bat Yam residential building

Three suspects, including a 17-year-old minor, have been arrested following an incident in which a grenade was thrown at a residential building in Bat Yam, a coastal city south of Tel Aviv. Police received reports of an explosion near the Yitzhak Sadeh Street address at approximately 3am on Sunday. Officers were dispatched to the scene and immediately launched a search operation.

During their investigation, police identified a suspicious vehicle fleeing the area and tracked its movements until locating it in Ashdod, a nearby port city approximately 25 kilometres south of Bat Yam. The Honda vehicle was stopped and three suspects were apprehended: a 17-year-old minor and two adults aged 31 and 33.

The suspects have been transferred to Bat Yam police station for questioning. They are expected to be brought before the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court on Monday morning for a hearing to decide whether their detention will be extended. The incident remains under investigation as police work to establish the motive behind the alleged attack.
