A man has died after drowning at Ashdod’s Tzfudit Beach on Tuesday. Lifeguards pulled him from the water unconscious, but resuscitation efforts ultimately proved unsuccessful. The circumstances surrounding his initial submersion remain under investigation, with authorities examining whether he experienced medical complications whilst swimming.
In a separate incident at the Sea of Galilee, a woman suffered moderate injuries when struck by a motorboat propeller near the shoreline. Emergency responders treated her at the scene before transferring her to hospital for further evaluation. The boat operator remained on scene to assist investigators.
Earlier on the same day, rescue teams launched an extensive search operation in the Sea of Galilee after a man became caught in deep water. Search and rescue personnel located him after approximately one hour and brought him to safety, though his condition required immediate medical attention.
In perhaps the most alarming incident, a one-year-old child was rescued from a private swimming pool in Herzliya and transported to hospital in serious condition. Paramedics arrived at the scene after the child’s submersion and provided emergency treatment before rushing the infant to hospital. The child’s family had reportedly been present at the time of the accident.
These three separate water-related emergencies occurring within hours of one another have renewed focus on water safety during Israel’s hot summer months, when swimming and water-based activities surge across the country’s beaches, lakes and private facilities.
