Three Israeli soldiers critically wounded by Hezbollah drone in Lebanon; IDF strikes back

Three Israeli Defence Force (IDF) soldiers have been critically injured following a drone strike in southern Lebanon, with the attack occurring in the Jabal Ali Tahir ridge region. The wounded personnel have been evacuated to Rambam Medical Centre in Haifa for treatment of their severe injuries sustained in the incident.In response to the attack, the IDF launched a rapid counter-operation targeting a central Hezbollah command centre. During this strike, the military eliminated a Redouane force commander, marking a significant blow to the militant group’s operational structure in the area.The incident highlights the ongoing tensions along the Lebanese border, where cross-border clashes between Israeli forces and Hezbollah have intensified in recent months. The use of weaponised drones by the Iranian-backed group has become an increasingly common tactic in attacks against Israeli positions and personnel.According to military sources, the commander who was killed had been positioning his own family members amongst civilian areas, apparently attempting to use them as human shields. This practice reflects Hezbollah’s documented strategy of embedding military operations within populated zones to complicate Israeli response operations.
