TikTok has revealed a significant foreign interference campaign in a transparency report submitted to Israel’s Elections Committee. The platform removed tens of thousands of violating videos as part of its disclosure.
According to the report, TikTok identified and removed over 45,000 videos, more than 1,400 fake accounts impersonating public officials, and covert influence networks operating from Iran specifically targeting Israeli audiences ahead of the elections.
The disclosure represents one of the first documented cases of coordinated Iranian disinformation efforts on a major social media platform directly targeting Israeli voters during an election period.
