US President Donald Trump has made aggressive statements regarding potential military action against Iran, stating that remaining Iranian targets could be destroyed within ten minutes. Trump’s comments came amid reports of a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Trump claimed the US has already significantly degraded Iran’s military capabilities, saying ‘We destroyed their air force, navy and nuclear [programme], the rest we’ll do in 10 minutes.’ He indicated there remain ‘one or two sites’ requiring attention, whilst characterising Iran as ‘unreliable’ in negotiations.

The statements coincide with ongoing diplomatic efforts to avert further military escalation. According to reports, an Iranian security chief stated Tehran is considering lifting its ban on nuclear weapons development, adding to regional tensions.

Trump’s rhetoric represents a significant escalation in US-Iran tensions and suggests active coordination between Washington and Jerusalem regarding potential military operations against Tehran’s nuclear and military infrastructure.
