Two gunmen opened fire in Kiryat Arba after arriving in a vehicle, triggering a 20-minute firefight with IDF forces stationed in the settlement. Both attackers were neutralised during the exchange, according to Ynet’s report from a Shin Bet operative who participated in the incident.

The soldiers at the scene prevented what security officials described as a potentially larger-scale attack. The gunmen exited their vehicle and immediately began firing before being eliminated by responding forces.

Prime Minister Netanyahu arrived at the scene and announced a response involving the evacuation of residents from neighbourhoods where the attackers originated, followed by demolition of those areas. Netanyahu stated: “We will enter the neighbourhoods from which the terrorists came, evacuate the residents, and work to destroy the place.”
