The US Embassy in Israel has issued a safety warning regarding unexploded ordnances following a fatal incident during a school trip, according to Jerusalem Post reporting.
The warning was prompted by the death of Elazar Yair Wilensky, who was killed when unexploded Hezbollah ammunition detonated during an educational excursion.
The incident highlights ongoing dangers posed by unexploded munitions and ordnance remaining from previous conflicts in areas where civilian groups, including students, may be present.
The embassy’s safety alert comes as Israeli authorities continue clearing such hazardous materials from affected regions.
