The death toll from two devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela in June has climbed to 6,125, according to figures released on Monday by senior legislator Jorge Rodriguez. The natural disasters have left a significant humanitarian crisis in their wake, with the country still grappling with the scale of destruction and loss of life. The revised figures represent a substantial increase from earlier estimates, as rescue and recovery efforts have continued to uncover additional casualties in affected regions. Nearly 61,000 people have required hospital treatment following the twin earthquakes, placing enormous strain on Venezuela’s already fragile healthcare system. The earthquakes have compounded the economic and social challenges facing the country, with many communities still in urgent need of humanitarian assistance and reconstruction support.
