Woman dies after emergency caesarean following Ashdod crash; newborn in critical condition

A 35-year-old pregnant woman has died following a serious head-on collision between two vehicles near the port of Ashdod in southern Israel. The woman was in an advanced stage of pregnancy when the crash occurred, sustaining critical injuries that required immediate intervention. Medical staff at the hospital made the difficult decision to perform an emergency caesarean section in an attempt to save both mother and child. Tragically, the woman died on the operating table during the procedure. Doctors did manage to deliver the baby alive, but the newborn remains in a critical condition and is receiving intensive care. The circumstances surrounding the collision are still being investigated by local authorities.
