A six-year-old child was seriously injured in a road traffic collision on Highway 2 near the Ohr Akiva junction on Friday afternoon. Paramedics from Magen David Adom (Israel’s ambulance service) provided emergency treatment at the scene before transferring the child to Rambam Health Care Campus in serious condition with a head injury.
Three additional people were also injured in the incident and taken to hospital with varying levels of injury. These included a 40-year-old woman in moderate condition with multiple injuries to her body, a 60-year-old man who sustained a chest injury, and another casualty with minor injuries.
The collision occurred on one of Israel’s busiest highways, which regularly experiences high traffic volumes connecting the Haifa area with central Israel. Emergency services responded quickly to the scene, though details of the exact circumstances of the crash remain unclear.
