A man in his 70s was rescued from a burning apartment in Ashdod after inhaling significant amounts of smoke, leaving him in critical condition. The fire broke out in a first-floor flat on Palimach Street, with thick black smoke pouring from the building. Firefighters extracted the man without a pulse or signs of breathing and he was rushed to Assuta Hospital whilst undergoing emergency resuscitation procedures. Paramedics at the scene described the severity of the situation, noting the dense smoke emanating from the property. The man remains hospitalised as medical teams continue efforts to treat his smoke inhalation injuries.
