Israeli politics enters pilot season: The cast is ready, but where’s the script?

Israeli political leaders are assembling their party lists ahead of elections in what appears to be a theatrical production worthy of Hollywood’s pilot season. However, unlike the entertainment industry where scripts are carefully prepared before filming begins, Israeli politics seems to be proceeding without a clear narrative or direction. Party chiefs are curating their candidates and positioning themselves for the coming electoral campaign, but the fundamental blueprint for their political agendas remains conspicuously absent. This disconnect between the casting process and the underlying strategy raises questions about whether Israeli parties are genuinely prepared for the challenges ahead, or simply going through the motions of electoral theatre. The analogy to television production is apt: just as a pilot episode fails without a coherent script, a political campaign lacks credibility when candidates cannot articulate a clear vision or policy platform. Israeli voters are therefore left watching a casting call where the leading roles are assigned but the actual plot remains decidedly unclear.
