Six draft evaders arrested at Ben Gurion Airport attempting to flee to Uman

Breaking

Israeli authorities arrested six young men at Ben Gurion Airport moments before their scheduled departure after they attempted to leave the country whilst under military conscription orders.

The arrests form part of a broader enforcement operation over the past two weeks that has resulted in dozens of Breslav Hasidic adherents being detained at Ben Gurion Airport and the Taba border crossing. These individuals were attempting to reach Uman, the Ukrainian pilgrimage site significant to the Breslav movement.

Senior rabbinical figures within Breslav Hasidic circles recently released a recorded message urging draft evaders not to attempt the journey and to avoid coming to Ben Gurion Airport, indicating organised efforts to discourage such departures.
