Lt. Col. Daniel Ella, who was moderately wounded during combat operations in Rafah, has been promoted to the rank of Major General and will assume command of the 14th Reserve Brigade. Ella gained widespread recognition after addressing his soldiers during the Gaza operation, telling them to continue fighting whilst he recovers and returns to them.

The officer previously commanded Battalion 52 during the Gaza campaign. His appointment represents a significant personnel decision within the IDF’s command structure, elevating a combat-proven officer despite his recent combat injury.

This promotion underscores the IDF’s confidence in Ella’s leadership capabilities and his ability to command at the brigade level despite his ongoing recovery from moderate wounds sustained in active combat.
