Today (Tuesday), the Jordanian ambassador to Israel Rasan Al-Majli visited the member of parliament Imad Al-Adwan , who was arrested in Israel on suspicion of trying to smuggle weapons and gold through the Allenby crossing. In the official announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Amman, it is written that "the member of parliament informed the ambassador that his health condition is normal and that he is not exposed to any physical abuse".
It was also reported that "the Jordanian ambassador spoke with Al-Adwan regarding the circumstances of his arrest and the procedures of his investigation, and came to make sure that the conditions of his arrest respect his legal rights and human rights. The visit comes as part of the intense efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the relevant authorities, to find out what the nature of the investigation is, and to ensure the conditions of detention and the investigation procedures in accordance with the law and international conventions."
As you remember, al-Adwan was arrested on Sunday Harun at the Allenby crossing on suspicion of trying to smuggle gold and weapons. The customs officers at the Allenby crossing, who were not supposed to check the member of parliament, received early information and therefore carried out a check. During the inspection, they found 100 kg of gold, 12 long guns, 12 Zig pistols and 167 Glock pistols.
